CONCEPT — Music designed to induce real sleep

The goal was clear and ambitious: Create music that is both aesthetically beautiful and physiologically sleep-inducing. The main piece, “Waving Way,” was composed specifically for the head spa experience inside the event. Unlike conventional ambient music, this track was built using rhythmic, harmonic, and psychoacoustic techniques that directly support nervous system downregulation.

APPROACH — “Waving Way” Sound Design

To create a soundscape that gently draws the listener toward deep sleep,
the composition centered on three core elements:

  • Deep Low-Frequency Ensemble
Low frequencies that subtly pulse and “hold” the body, guiding the listener into a parasympathetic state.
  • Solfeggio Frequency Layers
528Hz and other frequencies woven into the harmonic texture, creating soft internal resonance and emotional ease.
  • Rhythmic Waveforms from Global Traditions
African and Middle Eastern rhythmic structures transformed into soft, flowing waves rather than beats, so the listener feels movement without conscious rhythm. The result is a sound world described as:

“Like sinking into a beautiful, quiet deep sea.”

EXPERIENCE — When sound becomes a sleep tool

Feedback from guests and therapists went beyond “relaxation” into measurable effects:

Participant Feedback (Goku no Kimochi Collaboration)

  • Comfort 82% — “The deep bass resonated through my whole body.”
  • Sound Experience 62% — “It felt like floating above clouds, then diving into the ocean.”
  • Customer Satisfaction 94% — “I fell asleep faster and deeper than usual.”
  • Workplace Improvement 58% — Therapists reported improved working atmosphere.

Therapist Comments

  • “Guests fell asleep noticeably faster during treatments.”
  • “The low frequencies felt like they resonated deep in the abdomen.
  • “The sound felt so deep it made me imagine the deep sea.

These responses affirm that the music functioned not as decorative BGM, but as a healing instrument.

Outcome — Healing meets branding

ONTSUBU LLC’s music served three roles simultaneously:

  • A healing tool — Supporting deeper sleep, parasympathetic activation, and emotional calm.
  • A branding element — Expressing the world of Goku no Kimochi and Mitsukoshi’s “Sleeping World.
  • An emotional experience — Strengthening customer loyalty and elevating therapist well-being.

In this project, sound healing became sound branding—aligning wellness, beauty, and brand identity in a single listening experience.
