[NEWS] ONTSUBU Founder Miyuki Tani Receives FRSA — Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
News — April 24, 2026
Miyuki Tani Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
Founded in 1754 and with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as its Patron,
The Royal Society of Arts (RSA)
awards the honorary title of
Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA)
to individuals worldwide who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the arts
in service of society.
The RSA has elected Miyuki Tani (Ikuyi Minat) as a Fellow,
in recognition of her achievements in music, spatial audio design, and sound wellness —
both in Japan and internationally — following a formal nomination process
through the Fellow get Fellow pathway.
With this election, Miyuki Tani, Founder and CEO of ONTSUBU LLC,
is entitled to use the post-nominal letters FRSA after her name —
as in “Miyuki Tani FRSA.”
About the RSA
The Royal Society of Arts
— formally The Royal Society for the Encouragement of
Arts, Manufactures and Commerce — was founded in 1754 and is headquartered in London.
It received its Royal Charter in 1847 and was granted use of the title “Royal” by
King Edward VII in 1908.
For over 260 years, the RSA has stood at the forefront of significant social impact —
delivering solutions for lasting social change through proven change processes,
rigorous research, a platform for innovative ideas, and a diverse global community.
Today, approximately 30,000 Fellows have been elected from over 100 countries.
Past Fellows include Benjamin Franklin, Adam Smith, Karl Marx, Marie Curie,
Nelson Mandela, and Stephen Hawking — among many others who have shaped
the course of human history.
“This title is not only a recognition of my individual work — it belongs to everyone
who has walked this path with me through music, sound, and wellness. At a time when
the role of sound in human connection and well-being is more relevant than ever,
I feel a deeper responsibility to advance both research and real-world application.
As an individual, and through ONTSUBU LLC, I am committed to contributing to social
change through sound, together with the RSA’s global community of Fellows.”

with the belief that sound has the power to build a more connected, more human world.
