[ONAIR] Telecasting – KYT Kagoshima Yomiuri (JAPAN)

On August 28, 2026, KYT (Kagoshima Yomiuri Telecasting) aired a feature on the work of ONTSUBU LLC in Satsuma, Kagoshima, in its program It Oshi TV (Motto It Oshi TV).

OTOKAERI — Coming Home Through Sound

OTOKAERI is a sound wellness program whose purpose is to help people come home to themselves through sound.

At its root is a question. Perhaps music does not heal people so much as return them to themselves. The space between sounds, what Japanese calls ma, is not silence. It is a rich space where relationships form. By listening into that space, participants recover a sense of themselves that is easily lost in daily life.

A Program in the Forest

This summer in Satsuma, the program took place over three days in the forest. All three July sessions were fully booked.

Participants took part in a sensory program built around three kinds of ma, sound baths in the morning and evening, and sensory vision training, with unhurried time in the forest and a special tea.

Alongside it, a study program brought parents and children to stay and learn together in rural Japan.

Sound and Place

The program is held in a space built from Acoustic Aging® timber, wood matured in the forest while listening to Bach. The forest, the wood and the air of the place become part of the sound itself. 【One sentence on how the natural sounds of Satsuma were used】

Sound changes with the place where it is played. Rather than a city studio, participants spend time inside a resonance that can only arise in this place. This is how ONTSUBU connects sound and place.

Sound as Art

The sound used in the program is created from scratch through performance, composition and sound design. 【Specific artistic elements】

Interview

Founder Miyuki Tani was interviewed on camera about her current work, how the sound for the program is made, and how OTOKAERI came to take the form it has today.

KYT鹿児島讀賣テレビで放映されました

2026年8月28日、KYT 鹿児島讀賣テレビの番組『It推しTV』（「もっとIt推しTV」）にて、鹿児島県さつま町でのONTSUBU LLCの活動が紹介されました。

おトかえり ── 音を通して、自分に還る

「おトかえり」は、音を通して自分自身へと還ることを目的としたサウンドウェルネス・プログラムです。

根底にあるのは、音楽は人を「癒す」ものではなく、人をその人自身へと還すものではないか、という問いです。音と音の「あいだ」、つまり日本語でいう「間（ま）」は、沈黙ではありません。関係が生まれる、豊かな空間です。その間に耳をすますことで、日々の中で見失いがちな自分の感覚を取り戻していきます。

森で過ごす、滞在型のプログラム

この夏さつま町で開催したのは、森の中で3日間を過ごすプログラムです。7月のA・B・C全日程が満席となりました。

あわせて、親子で日本の地方に滞在して学ぶ体験留学プログラムも実施しました。

地域と音

プログラムの舞台は、森の中で木にバッハを聴かせて熟成させた、音響熟成®木材の空間です。その土地の森、木、空気が、そのまま音の一部になります。【さつま町の自然の音をどう使ったか、一文】

音は、鳴らす場所によって姿を変えます。都市のスタジオではなく、この土地でしか生まれない響きの中に身を置くこと。それが、地域と音をつなぐONTSUBUの試みです。

アートとしての音

プログラムで用いる音は、演奏・作曲・サウンドデザインを通して一から制作しています。【アート的要素の具体】

番組では、その場で音がつくられ、空間に満ちていく様子が紹介されています。
